What We See We Become
posted by Deepak Chopra

Adapted from Power, Freedom, and Grace, by Deepak Chopra (Amber Allen, 2006).

What we see we become. What we touch, we become. Even our memories are constantly transforming themselves into physical reactions in our body. Our interpretation of reality, our interpretation of our body-mind, generates all kinds of biochemical reactions inside us. These interpretations become memories, and the memories spontaneously trigger transformations without our knowing it. And where are these memories located? These memories are everywhere.

They are non-locally present in our soul, they manifest in our brain cells, and they get encoded in every cell of our body.

Your body is a field of ideas, and the body you?re experiencing right now is an expression of all of the ideas you have about it. If you have the idea that your body is a physical machine, that it?s supposed to age a certain way, that it gets imbalanced because of environmental changes, all of these ideas translate into chemical changes in the body. If these ideas change, and they will change according to scientific discovery, then just that change in how you view the body will spontaneously cause transformations in the body.

Hi Trishsgate,
For that which exists in this body, at this point, in this place, to agree with your posted quote, would need to change and accept that the body is a reality.

It cannot become something as it is already one.

To see and experience differences, to 'live' an existence, to learn through emotions, to have guilt, pleasure, regret, joy and all other tides of being, this is only a way to learn something which you, the one, already have knowledge of.

Memories do not have to be in a time as they exist at all points, because there is only the single now. This is not time, as time cannot be, it is just an always now. But the now is also not a point as all 'now' is only as you, or one, require it.

Nothing is imbalanced as all regulates at the point.

This is the standard problem associated with these discussions.

If you are talking about Ultimate Reality...then yes, you are perfect and have nothing to do but sit around and eat donuts. Be Joyful.

If you are discussing the matrix of duality in which we all play, than you may wish to experience limitations, challenges, and stressors that must be overcome.

Thusly, you gain the complex impressions of Loss.....and gain....achievement....and failure....pain and suffering....pleasure and hedonism...greed and jealousy...altruism and compassion....love and longing.

All these things are beautiful and brutal. I think what Dr. Chopra is reminding us is that within that matrix, we are not victims. Indeed we are the creators. He is reminding us that WE are the magic.

That is how I read that.

Albatross, agree with your comments and cannot see a dispute between our posts. I see then as striking at 2 different anvils, or veils.
