Now here is someone who i think was an authentic spiritual teacher, reading some of his material has helped me to break some paradigms and it has helped me to gain new insights. Gurdjieff always insisted that one must shed light into one's unconscious if we wish to be alive, a man who didn't provide consolation for people but he did provide a massive threat to people's lust for escapism. I really recommend to anyone to have a look at his work.

I highly recommend to check Gurdjieff's study on what he called mentation, sometimes we take for granted the images which a concept can evoke in people's mind:

"It is the greatest mistake to think that man is always one and the same. A man is never the same for long. He is continually changing. He seldom remains the same even for half an hour."
G.I. Gurdjieff

“A considerable percentage of the people we meet on the street are people who are empty inside, that is, they are actually already dead. It is fortunate for us that we do not see and do not know it. If we knew what a number of people are actually dead and what a number of these dead people govern our lives, we should go mad with horror.”
George Gurdjieff

One of his books:

Beelzebub's Tales to His Grandson

I started to read that but didn't get far. Usually a sign that I'm not ready for something. You've prompted me to have another go, ty!
