my daughter has written a song,
she is 8 years of age .
this is how it goes...

i said no to the future
i said no to you
i said no to everyone
until the lie was true

all i wanted is life to be like a angel

just come to me ,we will both be free

it,s all i ever wanted

because i said no to the future.

i said no to you.
i said no to everyone.
until the lie was true.

i feel like a angel
i look like a angel
i dance like a angle
until i fly away

am i dreaming
am i dreaming
my wings have spread out wide

a bird just asked shall we dance for a ride

but i said
no to the future
i said no to you
i said no to everyone
until the lie was true

i began to fly
and all my worries died

so my answer is yes to the future.

out of the mouths of babes.as they say.
the future is our children......
in no way do i try to influence my ideas on my family.
we each have our own journey to walk.
but these few words speak volumes to me.
thanks.

I was going to just skim through the posts today cause I am tired from work but

Hey, I could not resist.

You must be a very proud father (I presume you are a man...). How warm does one's heart goes when we see the creation of our child isn'it!

I have a daughter who started singing at 8, like yours. I had her taking lessons because language learning was much more fluid when she would sing (she was handicaped with dysphasia which affect the brain parts processing language).

She took up to it, became really passionate about singing, started to write songs. Finally she started piano lessons 2 years ago and is now writing her own music on her own songs, and singing them. She is sincerely quite good.

She had her first solo show 2 weeks ago, for 1 hours 1/2, singing 10 of her own songs and 5 from other composers.

It truly went very well (around 75 persons present). She is now 14 and had her first show. This is plainly miraculous in view of the difficulties she started with. I am so proud too.

May be both our daughter could sing together one day..... who knows hey.

I am so glad for you and her, your daughter - she is on the steps leading towards passion for music, believe me, it fills a teenager heart later on.

edit: we should connect them through skype or hotmail chat so that they can exchange about songs, both being authors.

So great to hear such heart warming personal stories about families and their accomplishments. Sounds like those two daughters have the best teachers each in their own homes..............One day maybe all children will be so blessed :)
