the decline of red meat ..

so part of my theory of the future is that we will eat much less red meat ..

because of the drought in the soth the last year ..and higher grain ..lower doller values ..the price of red meat has gone up..fewer people are eating meat..

now with this story of a cow dieing from mad cow ..and how hard the media is trying to down play it..while countries around the world are starting to halt imports of us beef ..

you will see more open discussion of the meat supply ..

hey we test like 10 thousand of the tend of millions of cattle in the states ever year .. will not go over well..

but it could fall to the side as bad new shock takes effect ..

The whole mad cow thing is a game to manipulate the markets, but that said I do concur that red meat consumption will very much reduce in the near future.

I'm curious about why you say that, Anchor...

I don't eat much red meat myself but my brothers are hard core carnivores...my younger brother views my opinion on it as another reason to justify his belief that i'm 'weird and generally pretty useless'...he did concede once very sarcastically that i'm the smartest guy he has ever known but that was after much prompting by me...

Re: the decline of red meat ..

1 cow was found out of... how many? And it was at a rending plant, not a place where food is packed for human consumption. I'd have to agree with anchor on this one. Did any of ye see that story where Michigan is making small pork farmers shot 'wild hogs'? That is to say, pigs that they've been raising for decades, based upon color of their coats, etc? It's nothing but the big pork industry screwing over the little guy and guaranteeing an monopoly for their inferior product. It's just business. It's almost ALWAYS 'just business'. Follow the money and the agenda.

"Neglect not the small things, for all intrigues, and wars and truths are naught but small things, one built upon the other. Begin then, with the small, and look close, and ye will see it all."
FYI: Dandelions are one of a few plants that are 100% edible. Flowers, stems, leaves, roots. Everything. Remember that, as it may save your life one day. Learn more here: http://wildcookery.wordpress.com/

I said two things, Janos covered the first of those, I will address the bit where I said "I do concur that red meat consumption will very much reduce in the near future."

This relates to by belief that the nature of the energy exchange between us and our sustaining planet is changing and becoming more refined. It is to do with the idea that the levels of harmony and our awareness of the truer nature of life in nature are increasing and people who are aware of that would naturally want to avoid engaging the the "old fashioned" energy exchange of slaughtering and consuming animals - perhaps choosing to consume more vegetables instead and perhaps dairy - especially in a manner where animals are not killed. Then one moves further away from using animals in that way and ends up just eating vegetable matter.

I am basically a vegetarian, but I also like dairy products - though I know I eat to much of that

I could in good conscience milk a cow provided that this did not involve killing the calf. Obviously thousands of bobby calfs are killed to keep the dairy flowing in the current system - so dairy is still a problem in this regard.

I am making no judgement here. Eating meat is a perfectly valid way of sustaining your body.

Its just that peoples preferences will change once they become aware at a more detailed and truthful level of what is going on with "food" and the energy it represents - and the relationship it represents between ourselves and that which is outside ourselves and the planet that provided the material for the bodies we inhabit.

Re: the decline of red meat ..

the amercian diet and the western diet is backward from much of the world .. we eat a big piece of protien .. and a small amount of roghage .. or stuff cooked in fats .. this has been what we have been marketed to eat ..

this mad cow thing is a foot note and will probably effect how us beef is seen outside the country .. as we complain about cheep dangerous stuff from china.. the rest of the world get to complain that we are sending out possibly dangerous food ..

I am a big meat eater.. but i prefer chicken pork and fish.. there is something missing in the taste of beef .. i can't explain what .. but it is just much easier to get chicken pork or fish to taste better
