Flower Trip

Flower, had to leave.. her roots were aching for new soil.

She knew she had to go

but how...?

She quieted her thoughts, and felt her roots, pulling slowly away at the soil.

Disengage, detach pull! she screamed!

One by one she pulled her roots up and out of the soil

None of the other flowers paid much attention to her

They could not feel what she felt

They told her she would die if she left the soil

But..

Her petals heavy, her stem weak

The ground beneath her, bare of life

No longer feeding her

She was dying

Now she stood there, roots exposed

She shook, her leaves falling to the ground covering her roots

She turned her head slowly and breathed in one last look at her home

Then she lifted her leaves, her petals and yes even her roots

She lifted them to the sky and said to the wind

Poised for flight

Trembling with fear and desire

Here I am!

Flower finds herself stumbling on her path

Stone is colder then earth, she thinks to herself

Tripping over the rough edges as her roots tread carefully

She falls , face flush to the cold stone

She cries, tears staining the grey path

She sleeps , echoes binding her soul

Dawn breaks with a concerto of beauty all around her

Awakening the flower once again after the cold night

Luring her to dance with the sun she feels life

Her petals unfurl, her leaves turn to the sky

Strained by the brutality of life her stem quivers

Roots dry and frail thirst for one tear

Her body undulates to the familiar rhythm

Instinct conducts her , desire moves her

Heat fills her core , boils her essence
