Sick fish in Gulf are alarming scientists

Scientists are alarmed by the discovery of unusual numbers of fish in the Gulf of Mexico and inland waterways with skin lesions, fin rot, spots, liver blood clots and other health problems.

"It's a huge red flag," said Richard Snyder, director of the University of West Florida Center for Environmental Diagnostics and Bioremediation. "It seems abnormal, and anything we see out of the ordinary we'llry to investigate."

Are the illnesses related to the BP oil spill, the cold winter or something else? That's the big question Snyder's colleague, UWF biologist William Patterson III, and other scientists along the Gulf Coast are trying to answer. If the illnesses are related to the oil spill, it could be a warning sign of worse things to come.

I wonder what could be causing this?

Alarming? If they are rational scientists this should be alarming. It should have been expected. Time to spend money and "find out and investigate"

Scientists are not that any more. Just rank and file, follow the leader, and just do your job.

I hope that the new generation of graduates that become scientists don't get caught in the disgusting cycle of consulting, big-pharma, or bio-engineering. So much brain power and so little progress!

The Union of Concerned Scientists is the leading science-based nonprofit working for a healthy environment and a safer world. What began as a collaboration between students and faculty members at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1969 is now an alliance of more than 250,000 citizens and scientists.
Anything coming out of MIT or CALLTECH is suspicious. Listen all these supposed philanthropic ventures are just means to Identify personalities.

All this poisoned fish and animals sheet is just more ammo for the Scientist to continue GMO production.
