    Vitamin C and its importance

    Hi all

I posted this on pa this morning and thought you might like to read it to see what you think.
I have pasted it in its entirety.

"I read an article in a book recently that showed the possibility that we are all deficient in Vit C. It stated that the RDA for us is 90Mg daily and that because of the small amount we take , our bodies have to use plaque to repair the lining of our arteries instead of collagen. This leads to blockages and obvious heart attacks.

Quote" 300 mg of vitamin c daily reduced the risk of heart disease by 50% in men and 40% in women."

Tests also revealed that a higher intake of vit c boosted life expectancy by 6 years. Those in the 12 months test showed that taking 1,500mg daily actually reversed the plaque effects and cleaned the artery linings and those who did not take that dose had worsening deposits in the arteries..

The book is called " Breakthrough Cures - Revolutionary Answers to the Deadliest Diseases".

May be worth a read for you as it also covers many diseases like cancer and speaks of the importance of Bicarb."

Yes Vit C is a very good tool in balancing health...

    But..

Do not take high dosages if pregnant or trying to get pregnant or if you have problems with uterine hemorrhaging. High dosages of Vit C causes miscarriages

    Thanks for your response Celine.

It also says that drinking a glass of water with 1 tsp bicarb 4x daily will balance the alkalinity of the entire body reducing risks of cancers.

Love. peace and Blessings to you all.

Re: Vitamin C and its importance

All great info..and the link is very useful Thank you Ammit

It is important to remain vigilant though when treating yourself...

I know for ppl with chronic kidney stones , using bicarb is still debated...

i found this.. it might help..

Sodium bicarbonate is commonly known as baking soda.

Sodium bicarbonate makes the urine less acidic, which makes uric acid kidney stone formation less likely.

Sodium bicarbonate may be used if you have had uric acid stones because you have too much acid in your urine.

Sodium bicarbonate can prevent the formation of uric acid kidney stones and can help dissolve existing uric acid stones.

The side effects of sodium bicarbonate include:

    * A possible increase in the risk of forming calcium kidney stones.

    * An increase in the amount of sodium in the blood.
    * Fluid retention (edema), especially in people with high blood pressure, heart failure, or liver disease (cirrhosis) or in older adults.

You will have to check the acid level of your urine (pH) to keep the pH between 6.0 and 7.0. Kidney stones are more likely to form if the urine has a pH much lower than 6.0 or higher than 7.0.

Sodium bicarbonate has more side effects than potassium citrate, which is also used to prevent uric acid kidney stones.

Yes all very true. I have been taking 6 to 10 grams of vit C per day for years. I have relatives who have reversed heart disease with vitamin C/lysine/proline... Pauling protocol.
