    Japanese researchers develop transparent skin

Apparently this will help the study of brain activity, perhaps others will enjoy being able to see their own colon.

Here's a snip from the report,

All the new breakthroughs in microscopy we’ve seen recently are designed to help scientists see deeper, inside individual cells and into the depths of the brain. Of course, this would be easier to do if there wasn’t a bunch of other tissue blocking the cells you want to see. Japanese researchers have a new solution: Make it all transparent.

A new chemical reagent makes the brain see-through, allowing fluorescent tags to light up neurons and blood vessels deep inside. This enables 3-D images of entire structures, without having to cut anything away or divide anything into smaller sections.

PS If anyone is clever enough to post the pic here that would be most splendid.

Not clever, but I think I figured out how to do that. (we'll see if it works)

In the tool bar above, the fourth icon from the right, second row , is a picture of a photo pinned to something (at least that is what it looks like to me) Click on that. The box that comes up will give you the choice of either browse your own computer or put in URL from the internet. To get URL (I don't even know what that means exactly--address?) click on photo, if it takes you to a separate page, that has the address in address bar that you will copy and paste into the spot for URL, if you can't get it to do that, as in this case, I tried, I save it to my own computer, then browse until I find it, click on it and click on upload. I hope I explained it satisfactorily and now I will attempt to do just that, here goes....and by the way, you want to put your curser where you want the picture to be.

    transparent.jpg

ps--the "upload" is directly underneath the slot for URL that comes up, on the left. I find it to be almost invisible so I just click there, even though I can't see it.

    About the article--yuck!!!!
