Once upon a time Zook inspired me to write a song about his character ; funny enough I saw him in that glimpse as an ye olde pirate cook...

a famous cook
retired, out business
now feeling dizziness
of crafty words
and faraway worlds
and the flood of thoughts
throughout the rooftops
...
Uncle Zook
that crafty smith
and master of words
that never drift
and always are worth
Our Uncle Zook
that famous cook!

Once I had his pastry
looking rather nasty
turned my head
alas alas!
And I was wrong
for the pastry
wasn't so nasty
and rather tasty.

Uncle Zook
a word smith cook
living in a land
that looks like a whale
Our uncle Zook
our beloved cook!

Now that you've got me self-conscious ... I suppose I should be grateful that Beren didn't go with the titular "Cook The Zook!" I sure hope no dyslexic with a large BBQ is reading this.

ps: After hearing my sisters talk so negatively about me to my Mom in an effort to turn her against me (for daring to live outside the box called The System), e.g. they and I have effectively stopped communicating for three months over a piece of ancestral land in India that they want to sell and I don't for sentimental reasons. Mom has the final decision on things. Anyhoo', it's gentle on the mind to come to a place where I am appreciated for not pretending to be. Beers!!

ps2: Nexus - alongside other things - is a sanctuary for straight shootin' son of a hitches like me (Mom and Dad in May '62). You start shooting straight with people you thought you knew, and even those in physical proximity ... and they're liable to run a van of psychomedics over you!

ps3: The great thing about the sofas here ... is that they're not part of a two-piece combo with shrink sitter swivels.

ps4: There, I feel less conscious now. If there's no issue with the good folks here, I'd like to move the two poems to the poetry thread ... and close this particular thread. I'll wait until midnite to see whether there are issues. Thanx again for the kind words, folks.
