Support, Donation, Help, delicate subject but essential for the "Ongoing Mission"

Good day Fellow Nexians.
As an active member in this digital community i want to address a topic that has been bugging me for month now.
Why me? because it does not have to be the management and it's my digital home too!

Every skill you learn in this society, you have to pay for it just to be a nice functional slave...

- you go to school = $
- you go to the university = $
- you take evening course = $
- you take culinary course = $
- almost everything you want to learn = $

On this Forum, you learn to be awake, you learn to use discernment, you are witnessing great debate, some greater than others but interesting nevertheless, learning every step of the way.

The survival of this platform, which we should call our digital home, depends on all of us, to stay up and running.
The server fees are only to keep the engine running, we need back up system, servers, UPS, maybe a bigger bandwith, at one point we will need to consider having people handling stuff on a more permanent basis and yes, it costs money.

We are 1000 members, in an ideal scenario everyone should contribute 25$ per year minimum to help maintain and grow Nexus.
but it does not work like that.
Nexus has been operating on a shoe string budget since its creation, i think that the need for this platform has been proven now, it's time that "we" invest a bit of $ in our own "digital home".
Congratulations to the team on what has been achieved so far.

It's called Support, Donation, Help, because no money will be asked for from the ones who have initiated this project.
Is it a question of principle? maybe, but i don't care.
I'm a member and i want to see this digital community thrive and expand.

I, for one, would love to see Nexus add some features & projects...:

- How about a 24/7 Nexus web radio?
- I would love to listen to interviews, music, re-broadcasts from a simple button on the Forum.
- Live Forum debate with a few members.
- Creation of a suggestion group made of members.
- Expansion, mean new Mods to be trained.

We need all the help we can get.
To all the members, please, hit the button at least once this year!
To all the guest and visitors, get on board! we want your opinions and ideas and YES come and hit the button as well.
Believe it or not, most of the activities on here are directed to you.

Let me put it this way, when i click the button Nexus is not getting the donation, WE are!

I use to buy stuff from Germany, and the way that I do it is, the owner of the shop sends me an email with the "data to make the payment (IBAN, etc...)", with that "data" I go to "my" bank and tell them to make a transfer of X amount to the count that the owner of the shop provided in the "data".
Can I do something similar with the forum?

Is there a way to see the actual budget, account balance and know how the money is being spent so we don't get accused, sorry so Richard and Celine do not get accused of living off of Nexus? Who controls the account and how is it accessed to make sure money is going towards Nexus and not a vacation? And, time is money so to speak, but whose time is worth what, and there are those who contribute substantively verses those who do not contribute anything noticable.

It can be a sticky wicket, and I am not accusing anyone of anything here, I just want to bring this up for clarity and avoid pit falls.

I agree, maybe we can use a pie chart template to help with it. One that is tied automatically to the account, I've seen this method used before.

That would be hilarious, Nexus's best month ever brought in about $500. Maybe we could live off that in a remote area of the world (like Ecuador) but here in quebec that wont last a week

Oh Richard, I am always an idealist and believe in outpouring of growth when intention is there. My questions are not in the accusatory, but more the clarity. I actually believe Nexus could take in a LOT of money and the transparency issue would be thrown in whomever handles the bank accounts faces by the likes of KC types who have very serious clarity issues.

So, If I am going to invest more than my time here, and we are going to grow this to do some good somehow in a tangible, physical way I expect a ton of money, and I am rarely disappointed. Just saying, what are the goals, needs, and if not currently sufficiently met, then the call goes out and the Universe provides. Just ask specifically because outcomes may vary.

Some Mods have been discussing the finacial situation at NeXus.

Richard informs us the account has enough for this months payment and thats it.

Donations can be a sensitive subject but we do require a minimum to pay servers etc

many people are in need, for far greater things then maybe a forum...

But

I feel this forum, creates a space to help others... in more ways then one.

From my heart to all of yours ,thank you for all you give to this community...financially, emotionally, spiritually and physically.

I know together we can build this path and find our way home
