Yet, I know if you talk to the healers you work with, They'll tell you that self care is of utmost importance. You know you are certainly worth it.

    Going By and Sandy.

Thank you both for sharing your experiences.

They are very informative, and many people should get some good inspiration from them.

I love to see people buck the system and stand on their own two feet, finding their own solutions to problems that Big Medica says are impossible to cure. It's what I live for! Kudos, and well done!

Me too, Janos. My body feels better when I eat animal meats and fats. I've got MS and I have been able to stop the progression of my disease by following this type of diet.

On the topic of minerals, our ancestors used to eat the wholefoods. So if it was a chicken it was the whole of it (bones, organ meats), not the skinned and boned chicken breast fillets we find in supermarkets today.

If you are a meat eater, bones are a very rich source of minerals. If you eat chickens you can buy them whole and make use of the carcass. Our local traditional butchers usually give out chicken carcasses and marrow bones for free. The expense is in cooking them due to energy prices

You can simmer the bones in some water (add acid such as lemon juice or vinegar) until the minerals and gelatin from the bones leech into the water. An electric slow cooker is good for this.

I eat homemade soup from bones every day and have done for two years. Even in the summer.

As I mentioned earlier, bone broth has been prepared in kitchens, hearths and firesides throughout history. And, in many ways, it?s a lost art. Home cooks have simply forgotten how easily a broth is made and how worthwhile it is to make this low-cost, highly nutritive food a regular part of the family diet.

As the bones cook in water ? especially if that water has been made slightly acidic by the inclusion of cider vinegar ? minerals and other nutrients leach from the bones into the water. Homemade broth is rich in calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and other trace minerals. The minerals in broth are easily absorbed by the body. Bone broth even contains glucosamine and chondroiton ? which are thought to help mitigate the deletorious effects of arthritis and joint pain.

Rather than shelling out big bucks for glucosamine-chondroitin and mineral supplements, just make bone broth and other nutritive foods a part of your regular diet.
Further, homemade bone broths are often rich in gelatin. Gelatin is an inexpensive source of supplementary protein. Gelatin also shows promise in the fight against degenerative joint disease. It helps to support the connective tissue in your body and also helps the fingernails and hair to grow well and strong.

Another thing that Glidden said in the interview was that if your doctor says don't eat salt, then eat plenty of it. He is not kidding. I eat plenty.

Salt (real salt not the supermarket refined stuff) is a good source of minerals.

I use a grey celtic sea salt which contains 92 minerals and trace elements.

Refined salt is artificial and toxic to your body, and ordinary sea salts are sadly lacking in vital minerals and trace elements. In contrast, full spectrum, Celtic Salt is not only soft on the palate, and incredibly rich in flavour, but it makes a vital contribution to your health and well being.

Please note, the coarse Celtic cannot be used in a grinder, we have a dried Celtic Salt available for this purpose.

Contains a rich spectrum of 92 minerals and trace elements. Table salt has just two minerals, most sea salts less than 10, and even the best sea salts less than 40 because they are subject to heavy processing.

A thousand years of artisan tradition is still maintained:

    * Gently hand harvested, dried in the sun and wind
    * Never touched by any machinery or metal
    * No chemical treatments, nothing added, nothing taken away

I buy in the UK from http://www.seventhwavesupplements.co...FYsntAodEjM5MA

    Re: Cooking using bones.

Good recipe for that here: http://nexus.2012info.ca/forum/showt...ll=1#post62248

I cook like that every single day.
