It was the end of the World

Or so we thought it was anyway.

I had gone to bed at around 12 midnight lastnight after a long day. Around 4 AM this morning the entire house was awakened by flashing lights and the smell of ozone. I ran to the windows and saw a dance of electricity running up and down all the wires around the neighborhood. Off to the right there was an area that was being pounded by a bolt of lightning over and over again.....pow pow pow pow pow. Yet the lightning produced no sound of its own. I think this fact is what everyone was frightened by, usually there is thunder associated with lightning. And of course being half awake didnt help matters either.

Police and fire crews showed up all over the neighborhood blocking off streets and shutting off the power grid. We were told to stay indoors as the area was not safe. When I asked what it was, I got no reply and was urged to return to my home. I complied and went back to sleep. This morning all was clear, and still have no idea what it was. Can still smell the ozone though, it is really thick with it.

Wow! Was it rainy/storming or lightning from a clear sky?

This is the exact sound that went on for about 10 minutes in a pulsing fashion.

Geez, with all the crazy things we're watching on the news and reading lately, that would have flipped me out, too. I would have thought, "Okay it's time. Here we go!" Glad you and yours are okay!! Since I learned about the solar flares, every time the electricity goes out, I rush to check the cell phones, laptops, etc... When they still work I'm like, okay, power should come back on soon - lol .
