BNFF Swim Teams Compete in Triangle | Preparation sports

SOUTH SIOUX CITY – The Beatrice Co-op swim and dive team traveled to South Sioux City for a triangle.

The women’s team came away with two wins. They beat South Sioux City 83-7 and beat Omaha Skutt/Mount Michael 63-31.

The men’s team defeated South Sioux City 53-36, but lost to Omaha Skutt/Mount Michael 56-37.

BNFF coach Dina Scheele said she was pleased with the performances of both teams, especially as it was their second meeting in the last three days. Despite this, many swimmers achieved personal bests.

“A lot of them competed in events that they wouldn’t usually swim,” Scheele said. “It’s always good to take a break from what they normally like to compete and focus on something else. I really believe, even though they may have a favorite stroke or event, that being a complete swimmer and competing and training in multiple events will help keep swimming challenging and interesting. It will also help them get stronger and faster.”

Scheele said she was also pleased with how the men’s team fared in both matches.

“I think our eight boys who competed tonight held their ground in a win over South Sioux City,” Scheele said. “We just don’t have the depth in numbers as Omaha Skutt/Mount Michael need to take the win.”
