We hope Mining Journal readers will take advantage of the many opportunities in the local community to obtain free KN95 masks.
As readers know, the Marquette County Health Department is making masks available to the general public free of charge, provided by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
KN95 masks are available at the main entrance of the Marquette County Health Department, located at 184 US 41 East in Negaunee, during business hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
In addition, free masks may also be available throughout Marquette County at MDHHS offices, offices of Aging Services, Community Action Alger-Marquette, federally licensed health centers, pharmacies, and even some points of sale.
Individuals should check with agencies and individual outlets for information on availability.
Trust us, we get it. Are you sick of wearing masks let alone the constant pounding of stress, illness and misery related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But what else can we do at this point? Overwhelmingly, science suggests that masks – especially of the KN95 and N95 variety – are the best way to avoid serious illness and hospitalization.
So grab a handful of free masks – and use them, please.
