Passenger Terminal Expo exhibitor TK Elevator launched its integrated apron operations system, ApronVision.
ApronVision incorporates 3D lidar technology for long-range, ultra-precise object detection and measurement. According to TK Elevator, it was the first company to use laser technology to guide planes to their parking position. Its system creates a high-resolution point cloud of the deck with up to 2.6 million data points per second and a scan angle of up to 360°. A full-screen, high-resolution LED display shows important, automated and personalized information.

ApronVision has been designed to enable full apron automation and digitization to provide real-time apron data. This real-time data should create a more efficient docking and departure process by improving control of all ramp activity. ApronVision is also designed to make all relevant information more readily available to decision-making operators.
“With ApronVision, TK Elevator is setting an industry-leading standard for airport operations,” said Manuel Alvarez, CEO of Airport Solutions at TK Elevator. “Smart technology improves docking and departure processes and facilitates complex operations at all times. Airports benefit from consolidating the most critical rotation processes and apron information into a single system. More importantly, faster and smoother processes also improve the passenger travel experience.
