TRAVEL BASEBALL: 9U outlaws take two from Accelerate Elite | local sports

Austin Bashford curled a home run and drove in two runs and Braden Martin ripped a double and a single to lead the 9+ Greene County Outlaws to a 12-1 win over Accelerate Elite 9U in Game 1 of baseball’s doubleheader. Sunday trip.

Chris Brown had two singles and an RBI and Ethan Peters scored a single and drove in three runs for the Outlaws. JJ Shah had a single and two RBIs and Maks Drukarczyk and Stosh Yusko both had a single.

In Game 2, Ethan Peters led the Outlaws with a double, two singles and an RBI. Chris Brown and Austin Bashford both had two singles and two RBIs, Stosh Yusko singled and drove in two runs, Maks Drukarczyk singled and drove in, Braden Martin and JJ Shah singled and Carter Chase drove in a run.

Bashford pitched 4 1/3 innings for the Outlaws, striking out seven, walking five and allowing two runs and three hits. Drukarczyk finished, striking out two, walking one and allowing an unearned run. Defensively, the Outlaws made no mistakes in either game.

Andrew Sager hit six innings as the 16U Greene County Outlaws beat the Sorensco Falcons 16+, 5-1, in Friday’s travel baseball game.

Sager struck out 11 and walked one before making way for Christian Tedford, who pitched a perfect seventh inning.

Sager helped his own cause with two singles and an RBI. Brodie Montgomery doubled and drove in a run, Jake Miller singled and drove in a run, Tedford singled and Shane DeRose drove in a run.

The 16U Columbia Clippers lost a 4-0 decision to the 16+SL Brunswick Buckeyes in Friday’s travel baseball game.

Kyle Bartlett doubled for the Clippers, who had five odd hits from Brunswick’s pitch. Brady Holzhauer, Matt Buono, Tyler Van Allen and Liam Mullins have all been selected.

Bartlett pitched five innings for the Clippers, striking out nine, walking three and allowing two runs and four hits. Zach Rowe pitched two innings, retired two, walked two and allowed two runs and a hit.

All-Stars Academy Prestige 15xxx overcame an early three-run deficit in the fourth inning and held on to edge the Columbia-Clippers 16U, 4-3, in Saturday’s baseball game.

Zach Rowe went 3 for 3 with three RBIs for the Clippers. Mason Ferrer added a single.

Rowe threw four innings for the Clippers, striking out four, walking two and allowing three runs and four hits. Ferrer pitched two innings, allowing one run and one hit with three strikeouts and three walks.

Hunter Kelly doubled and drove in two runs and Cameron Elcox and Shawn Lyons combined for a hit to lead the 15U+ Columbia Clippers to a 4-2 win over the Greenwich Titans in Game 1 of baseball’s doubleheader Saturday trip.

Elcox had a brace for the Clippers. Besham Burgess and Dante Troy singled and Colton Huston pitched a run.

Elcox struck out four, walked six and allowed the Clippers two runs and no hits. Lyons pitched 1 2/3 innings, striking out two, walking one and allowing one hit.

Greenwich scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim a 7-6 win over the Columbia Clippers 15U+ in Game 2 of Saturday’s travel baseball doubles.

Hunter Kelly led the Clippers with a solo home run. Colton Huston added two doubles and a single with an RBI, Antonio Troy had a double and a single with two RBIs, Shawn Lyons had a single and Ashton Hotaling drove in a run.

Troy (4k, 2bb, 4r, 7h), Hutson (2bb, 2r, 1h) and Alberto Rivera (1k, 1r, 3h) all pitched for the Clippers.

Brandon Rossano threw a full game of four hits as the 15U ENY Blackhawks beat the 16U Berkshire Americans, 9-0, in Game 1 of Saturday’s travel baseball doubleheader.

Rossano helped himself with the bat, ripping a double and a single and leading in two runs. Scott Sleurs added two singles and two RBIs, Dom Pelizza, Max Frering and Kyle Danforth each had a single and an RBI, Sam Buquet had a single and Gabe Carpenter had an RBI.

The 16U ENY Blackhawks took a five-point lead, then held off a late rally from the 16U Berkshire Americans to claim a 6-5 victory and complete a sweep of Saturday’s travel baseball doubleheader.

Sam Buquet, Jameson Balich and Scott Sleurs each scored twice for the Blackhawks. Dom Pelizza, Tyler Peck and Gabe Carpenter all had a single and an RBI.

Buquet was the winning pitcher, striking out seven, walking three, and allowing five runs and eight hits.

Gannon Logue tripled and drove in three and Charlie Schrader had two doubles and hit three-runs to propel the 13U Columbia Clippers to a 12-0 victory over the Schuylerville Stallions in Saturday’s travel baseball game.

Ryan Conte contributed a double and a single with two RBIs to the Clippers cause. Austin June had two singles and an RBI, Maky Kirby had a single and two RBIs, and Xavier Castle had a single.

Kirby was the winning pitcher, striking out eight, walking four, and allowing just two hits.

The Columbia Clippers 13U scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn a 7-6 win over the Schuylerville Stallions in Saturday’s road baseball game.

Jacob Alvarez led the Clippers with two doubles and an RBI. Avery Ackerly added three singles and an RBI, Gannon Logue had two singles and an RBI, Charlie Schrader and Maky Kirby doubled, Ryan Conte and Kameron Duntz both singled and drove in two runs, and Austin June scored makes a single.

Logue (5k, 4bb, 7r, 6h) and Schrader (2bb, 1r, 1h) shared pitching duties for the Clippers.

Callan Heimroth went 4-for-4 with an RBI as the 14U+ ENY Blackhawks beat the 14U Berkshire Americans, 13-2, in Game 1 of Sunday’s travel baseball doubles.

Kiah Pinto added two singles to the Blackhawks cause. Ryder Herchenroder and Alan Hamilton each had a single and an RBI, Nolan Space a single, Patrick Graziano had two RBIs, and Connor Brignull, Christian Abrams and Logan Bower all had an RBI.

Pinto was the winning pitcher, striking out two, walking one, and allowing two runs and three hits before the game was stopped in the fifth inning due to the mercy rule.

The Berkshire 14U Americans salvaged part of Sunday’s travel baseball doubleheader with the ENY Blackhawks 14U+ with a 6-2 victory in the nightcap.

Logan Bower led the offense on six hits for the Blackhawks with a triple. Nolan Space and Alan Hamilton each had a single and an RBI and Sam Stead, Connor Brignull and Kiah Pinto all had a single.

Space (2k,4bb,3r,2h), Ryder Herchenroder (3k,4bb,1r,1h) and Christian Abrams (3k,2r,3h) all pitched for the Blackhawks.
